What's up, my babies? We've made it to Friday, so you already know what that means. It's time to update your summer playlist with the hottest music releases of the week. Today's lineup has a variety of vibes to choose from as 6LACK gives us life updates via Love Is The New Gangsta, Loe Shimmy serves a strip club service announcement with Body Dangerous, and 42 Dugg, Skilla Baby, and Kash Doll put on for Detroit on the Thick One Remix. Let's get into this New Music Friday tea!
Love Is The New Gangsta - 6LACK (Album)
Fatherhood really does change a man, and you can hear that clearly on this project. On Love is the New Gangsta, 6LACK gives us the real on what this transition looked like for him as he examines his mental state and addresses the past mistakes that got him to this point. To add color to his emotions, he tagged in AZ Chike, Leon Thomas, Young Thug, 2 Chainz, Odeal, Quin, and Mereba. It's first on the list for a reason.
Wave Gods 2: Cosmos Brothers - French Montana & Max B (Album)
New York's favorite duo has done it again, but this time they took a page out of Chris Brown's book and put 26 tracks on Wave Gods 2: Cosmos Brothers. They have some dope feel-good samples on here that literally feel like summer, so prepare to be sick of them. The feature list is also very commendable, including Rick Ross, Ye, Chase, Belly, Chinx, The Isley Brothers, and Ty Dolla $ign.
MR. LA II - RJmrLA (Album)
RJmrLA is back to claim his title as king of the West Coast with MR. LA II. This album release marks a full-circle moment for him as he continues to have a major influence on LA rap. As you listen to this, you'll get a glimpse into what separates him from his peers and a variety of different vibes. Tap in!
Map Of Her Shadow - Anais Cardot (EP)
When Jay-Z said "this is only for the grown and sexy," he was talking about Map Of Her Shadow. It's a short and sweet 22 minutes, but it's so mesmerizing you'll find yourself putting it on repeat as you do your Sunday reset. I just put you on... you're welcome.
Blog Era Boyz - mgk & Wiz Khalifa (EP)
Blog Era Boyz is definitely an accurate title for MGK and Wiz Khalifa. It's actually safe to say that they carried the era, but that's a discussion for a different day. There are only nine records, but that's more than enough nostalgia for one sitting.
Gentlemen - K CAMP & Reese LaFLARE (Single)
Produced by Zaytoven, Gentleman is the first single from their upcoming collab album titled Giant. We can always count on K CAMP to give us something sexy for the ladies, and Reese LaFLARE was the perfect addition. Not to mention, the visuals play right into the strip club fantasy, making the song that much better!
Crash Out - Blaq Tuxedo (Single)
After Should’ve Seen This Coming dropped in 2025, Blaq Tuxedo is back with new music. CRASH OUT carries the sound fans are used to, the guitar-driven production, hard hitting bass, and of course the vocals. The track leans into a “Rhythm & Punk” vibe, bringing together R&B influences with a some attitude and emotion behind the lyrics.
Barbie Doll - Hurricane Wisdom & Chance The Rapper (Single)
Hurricane Wisdom links up with Chance The Rapper on Barbie Doll. He opens it up with a laid-back, melodic flow as he talks us through a flirtatious interaction with a woman he can’t quite shake. Chance then slides in on the middle verse with his signature charm and playful wordplay. Chef's kiss!
Thick One Remix - 42 Dugg, Skilla Baby & Kash Doll (Single)
As if the first one didn't already have you ready to twerk as soon as the beat drops, they brought Kash Doll in to speak for the ladies and... HELL YEAH. This is a match made in Motor City heaven! Skilla on any hook already gaurantee's you a hit but that verse from the thickest in the city just solified it as song of the summer. FLAT OUT!
Body Dangerous - Loe Shimmy (Single)
This is another one for your midnight ballerina playlist, if you know what I mean. It's short, slow, and sensual in true Loe Shimmy fashion. If you don't get to feeling yourself when you hear this, then... respectfully, check your pulse.
